Migrant Resources

On 18th December 2021 and with the occasion on International Migrants Day, we launched a set of multilingual and multimedia support materials for seasonal migrant workers who take temporary work in agriculture in the UK.

The materials have been co-produced in partnership with the charity New Europeans UK and the law firm Seraphus. The aims of the resources are to empower vulnerable temporary migrants and to increase standards in the farming sector.

Each of the material has two sections addressing the needs of EUSS seasonal workers and Tier 5 Seasonal Visa holders. The information materials are available here as a downloadable flyer and as videos produced in English, Romanian, Ukrainian and Russian. They include information on the rights of seasonal workers with the two statuses while in UK, as well as a series of useful links and contacts including claim mechanisms for reporting National Minimum Wage violations or Modern day Slavery.

Supporting migrant workers, ensuring they understand their rights in the UK, is critical to prevent exploitation and provide safe working environments. This is not just the role of enforcement bodies. Projects such as this, and the awareness of the products produced are essential to spread that knowledge as far as possible, and should be supported.
